I have a Dell with Vista. It just recently started crashing, and finally just won't start anymore. I get the dell start up screen, then it goes to Dell Media Direct and before that can load it goes to blue screen with error CONFIG_LIST_FAILED. I have tried all of the options in the Advanced Options Menu, but it can't get anywhere far enough to do anything. Any ideas?

Ahh the dreaded blue screen of death. It seems to strike at the most inopportune times doesn’t it? When you get the Windows blue screen it typically means you are having a problem in your registry. Typically when your computer has trouble communication information between software, hardware, and drivers it will crash. The best way to fix this problem is to scan your registry for errors which are causing the communication issues.
