My OS is Windows XP (home). I have a wireless mouse and keyboard (they connect via a controller that plugs into a USB port) and the mouse has stopped working. The keyboard works fine.
When I finally managed to navigate to mouse propeties (device status), it gives me Code 41 - Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device.
Ay suggestions? I've tried using another mouse, both PS2 and USB, and it does not work. Please help. Also please don't get too techinical, I only understand to a certain level!!!! Thanks

there is USB a million.0 and a pair of.0 standards, with 2.0 being backward well suited with a million.0 configurations. in case you have a USB 2.0 mouse it would be waiting to artwork in a USB a million.0 port on your laptop, yet no longer the opposite.

Check the batteries in the mouse itself, they likely need replacing.

I got caught out when I first got a wireless mouse.

Hi

i must say robin b has thae first answer the batteries are probably dead.

If that is not the case its dead and will need replacing and as this is a package that is why most people do not bother with them and go back to wired.
