Can anyone tell me what a boot CD is, and how I can create one? Please don't use overly technical terms. I'm new at this. Thank you-

a Boot"able" CD is a CD that when inserted into the CD drive will load something during power on of the machine. It will load something before it loads your Operating system.

It's an emergency CD from which you can startup your computer if the hard drive crashes or it won't boot for some reason. Your computer came with one.

If you want to make your own, go to:

But be careful. If you boot from this and don't know what you're doing there's a good chance you'll really screw up your operating system. It's called an "emergency" CD for a reason.

A boot cd. Is just a disk where you can put some os on it. And then the bios reads it and then it runs it.

boot cd starts the computer in a basic form. it has drivers to access drives and has some drive tools. i think bootcd.com is the website to download differnt types of boot disks depending what os you are going to install
