I currently have 51 processes running but the CPU is only at 5%. Its the kind of process that makes the difference.

if you know your CPU is at 100%, then you're familiar with the Task Manager. What process is drawing 100% of your CPU and for how long?
A number of those processes you can't stop from the Task Manager because they're system processes. And you probably don't want to start shutting down processes this way. Find out what is bogging down the CPU first and you start to troubleshoot from that.

I'm sure there a bunch of processes that are not needed. 38 is a bit much, think I have 20 running on mine with my CPU utilization at less than 1%.
Check out the "Autoruns" utility from SysInternals. It makes it easy to start/stop programs and services when the os boots.

Well that is alot of cpu usage for just 38 processes, but your just probably using really strong pograms that require alot of cpu usage or you just probably dont have enough RAM, or maybe its time for a new computer.

that's very high you should check your CPU and the other processors. i have 42 processors and my CPU usage is always at 5-10%
