my dvd-rw doesn't read blank dvd-s!!!!!please help!!!!?

when i put a blank dvd into my dvd-rw it doesn't start Autoplay(as usualy)and when i try to acces the drive, it displays the following error: "F:\ is not accesable; Incorrect function".....and this happens only when i put blank dvd-s.....i checked in bios and in Windows and it says that the device is working properly.....please, i need urgent help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny but I can't read a blank sheet of paper. This is the problem it is blank!

XP starts autoplay for writing the CD or DVD when a blank one is inserted. If you would have tried before this happened to double click the blank CD the same thing would have happened. Now it seems that the autoplay is not working anymore, due to millions of reasons Microsoft is not aware at the moment, but in the future will send millions of updates. If you write CD's with XP, then just use the tasks from the left side of the window (if you still have the common tasks displayed), and there should be a task saying Burn this CD, or sometihng like this.

Try updating the drivers for the dvd

unless you put a a dvd with a content on it it really won't read it....
