You'll have a new computer basically..
1st you hav to choose the right HD for your laptop Nearly all new laptops sold today contain 2.5-inch wide HD (check the Specs)
Be careful with the screws and follow your laptop manual booklet or the Manufacturer Support Web Site..
And you MUST Back Up everything on your old hard drive to external storage!!
The easiest way to do this is with disk-imaging software and an external hard drive connected via USB or Firewire. A disk image is an exact duplicate of every bit on your hard drive, including the operating system and user settings; applications; and data files. Your imaging software should also help you create a bootable "emergency CD" to help you restore the image to the new drive. Do not use mere data-backup software or you will have to re-install the OS and all of your application software!
by that you'll have your old Life Back unless you don't want anyone else to know about!

Well you will be required to install an OS on the new drive, if you replace the old drive back it should load up the OS on that drive. It may do some hardware scans to make sure there are no errors, but outside of that it will load the OS.

agreed; you may desire to'nt swap a disk without a minimum of a lab, yet having reported that, i don't think of this is carried out. the only element that human beings might do, and that i mean rather lab human beings, is replace broken products from the complicated force, like the actuators etc . yet, back, pass to a information restoration midsection, in the event that they are in a position to't, no one can not... for known quantities of money.

well, if you replace your laptop hard disk with another, you will have to transfer your data over or re-instal your OS.
