Well it sounds as if your computer is infected with some sort of malware.AVG is not a very good AV so uninstall that and download Avast! Home Edition which is free for home users, all you have to do is register once a year for continued use. After downloading Avast! download Sybot S&D too. Finally, boot your computer into safe mode by tapping F8 at startup and scan your computer for malware with Avast! and Spybot S&D and delete all the malware.Hope this helped! :)

From your question, I am enclosing some tips which I hope will help you resolve the problem

1 ) It appears you could have downloaded some spyware or adware whilst browsing a site because from the random sites popping up on your computer, I would say that you have had this happen.

The best cure for this is to get one of the programs from the sites listed below which will remove this problem for you. Make sure to use one that offers you a free scan

2 ) Your laptop is infected with a virus. I do hope that you will treat this seriously as you can essentially lose all the Information on your PC, as it the drive has needed to be re-formatted.

I have been there. Try AVG as you can get a free version. Just type AVG virus into Google.

3) Clean up or optimize your personal computer registry. The registry is the heart of your personal computer and so crucial to the performance. It stores imperative info like networking, hardware and all the software to cite a couple.

It becomes corrupted over time and requires maintaining and optimization. This could be a common reason for a P. C. Crashing or slowing down in it's performance. It's no good wishing that it would go back to the great laptop performance when we first bought it.

4) Get rid of programs that you don't need. You'll be awfully shocked at all the confusion that you have. By liberating the disc space, it will go towards optimizing your PC and accelerating the velocity.

Good luck and above all I do hope that this answer will solve your problem.

This will probably help out if it's a virus/spyware infection and you don't want to reformat your laptop. If you can't really navigate the internet to download the program, what you can do is grab a flash drive if you have one handy and go to another computer and download it to the flash drive. Then, just pop it into the infected computer and run it straight from the flash drive.

1) Download ComboFix from http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUB...

2) Be sure to SAVE ComboFix to your computer. Whether it is on your desktop or another location doesn't matter.

3) Run ComboFix. You do NOT need to be in safe mode for this. It will open a command window after the files are done extracting.

4) Click I Agree or similar when the license agreement pops up.

5) Click No when asked to install the Recovery Console.

6) Wait for ComboFix to run and complete it's scan. If it asks you to Restart/Reboot due to a Rootkit, let it restart. The scan will resume when your computer reboots and you log back in to your user account.

7) It may state during the scan process that it will Reboot your computer on its own. Let it do this. Do NOT restart the computer yourself.

8) When the scan is complete, it will pull up a log report. You can disregard this if you want. Close that window and restart your computer.

9) See if the problem is fixed. I would recommend you follow up on this by downloading the Free Version of AVG Anti-Virus. You can google "AVG Free" to find it relatively painlessly. Install it and download all the updates if there are any. Run a full system scan so it can remove any other viruses that combofix may have missed.

10) Problem should be taken care of if it IS a virus/spyware infection. Some infections are much harder to get rid of though, so pray you don't have one of those nasty buggers.

Good luck!

The reason the computer gets slow is due to the registry files becoming corrupted, or messed up, in simple terms. These files tell the computer or laptop how to operate the software installed on the system. If any of these files get messed up, the computer is not sure what to do and this will really slow down the computer. The other scenario is where you download other software, screensavers, pictures, videos, or even music, and this will somehow change the settings on a registry file. When this happens, the original program that needs that file now has the wrong instructions in it. So, it will cause the computer to run slow, or in a worse case, crash.

You can speed up your computer with a thorough analysis and repair of your registry. Right-click on the Taskbar, click Toolbars, deselect Quick Launch

3. Open My Computer

4. Click Start, Run ipconfig -renew (type ipconfig space renew)

All these things should be done regularly. The more frequently they are run, the less time they take.

-Note: Games and videos are mostly graphics. Graphics create large files. If these suggestions don't help, you might need more memory.

Last, if you haven't cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC's resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Does a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.

There is plenty of software around that can help protect your computer - provided you keep them up to date.

Use one from each group of these...

Anti-virus

AVG - http://free.avg.com/

Avast - http://avast.com/

Anti-spyware

AdAware - http://www.lavasoft.com/

Spybot - http://www.spybot.com/en/home/index.html

Firewalls

ZoneAlarm - http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/...

Comodo - http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

Running two anti-virus programs interferes with the way they work and could trash something important.

Run CCleaner - http://www.ccleaner.com/ - to clean up your registry.

There are other ways to protect computers. The easiest way is to only download and run programs that you trust and not open every attachment that arrives in your email. Only open those from people you know. Make sure your computer administrator accounts have strong passwords. Don't always run your computer with administrator privileges, use an account with lesser privileges such as power user
